About

Rachel Ghent – photography, design & marketing support

I’m a photographer and marketing assistant working with an independent brewery, based at the point where product, brand, and imagery meet.

Day to day, I create and curate visual content for our e‑commerce site and social channels, and plan photography that turns a new release into something you can almost feel in your hand.

Now, I’m looking to bring that same mix of photography, marketing, and design support into an independent design and manufacturing setting — working closely with products, materials, and the visuals that help them reach the right hands. That might mean supporting a brewery, design studio, or in‑house creative team with photography, content planning, and clear, practical marketing support.

How I work

My background spans interiors, products, and people. I began as an interior photographer, learning how space, light, and materials guide the eye. That training still shapes how I frame every product, every person, and every scene.

At the brewery, I photograph everything from cans on press and glassware on the bar to team portraits and behind‑the‑scenes production. I work closely with the wider team to understand what each image needs to do — whether it’s to sell, to explain, or simply to make the brand feel present and human.

Across online retail, I balance creativity with clarity: showing finishes, details, and usability in a way that answers questions before a customer has to ask them, while still reinforcing the story of the brand and how the product fits into someone’s day.

Marketing, content & tools

As a photographer and marketing assistant at an independent brewery, I plan and execute content across e‑commerce, social media, and email. I work with the team to understand product launches, seasonal campaigns, and trade priorities, then translate those into clear, visually led stories.

I use Mailchimp to create and send both B2B campaigns for trade customers and B2C newsletters for drinkers — adjusting imagery, copy, and calls to action so each audience gets what they need, whether that’s a quick reorder link or a more editorial, lifestyle‑led update.

Day to day, I maintain and update our WordPress site, making sure new beers, bundles, and collections are presented with the right imagery, copy, and layout. I understand how pages need to work visually and practically for customers, while staying true to the brand and easy to manage for the team.

Design tools & collaboration

I use Adobe Lightroom to manage, edit, and deliver image sets that are consistent, on‑brand, and ready for web or print. For layouts and concise marketing materials, I work in Adobe InDesign, creating assets such as one‑page sell sheets, tasting notes, taproom posters, and social templates.

I’m comfortable working within existing brand guidelines — using established type, colour, and imagery systems — while finding small, thoughtful ways to keep things feeling fresh and specific to each product, collection, or client.

In small teams, I’m used to collaborating directly with designers, marketers, and founders. I’m happy taking a brief and running with it, or working side by side to refine details until everything feels coherent — on screen, on the page, and on the shelf.

From interiors to products

My earlier work in interior photography taught me to read space: how materials sit together, how light moves across a surface, and how small details change the way something feels. That lens carries through to product work — from glass and metal to fabric and finishes — and feels especially at home in design and manufacturing environments.

I’m particularly drawn to independent design and manufacturing companies — places where products are built with intent, and where good imagery can tangibly shift how a collection is understood, specified, and selected.

If you’re looking for someone who can bridge photography, marketing, and light design support — moving easily between the studio, the shop floor, and the CMS — I can help your brewery, design studio, or creative team plan and produce the visuals and content you need. You can explore more of my work on the portfolio page, or get in touch via the contact page to talk about how we might work together.
